An Actor's Carol Production
PALM DESERT, CA — Film and theater actor, Miles Anderson, (La La Land, the original House of Cards, Eastenders, Macbeth with the Royal Shakespeare Company, Olivier Award nomination in Life is a Dream) will be starring in a dramatic reading of the comedic play An Actor’s Carol by playwright, director, and screenwriter, Charles Evered, presented on Friday, December 22nd at 5:30 pm and sponsored by Melissa Morgan Fine Art.
An Actor’s Carol tells the story of Hugh Pendleton, a cranky veteran actor who is sick and tired of playing Scrooge every holiday, subsequently suffers a nervous breakdown, and is visited by three ghosts of his own. The adaptation is a loving send up of the Dickens classic A Christmas Carol. The play premiered in December 2015 at the Hi-Desert Cultural Center in Joshua Tree, and opened with Tony winner Hal Linden (Barney Miller) starring as Scrooge. It was nominated for eight Desert Theatre League Star Awards, with Evered winning the Bill Groves Award for Outstanding Original Writing.
Mr. Anderson will be supported by a talented ensemble of actors playing seventeen roles between them, Wendy Rolfe Evered, (Just Shoot Me), Kirk Geiger, (Sordid Lives, world premier of An Actor’s Carol) and Marty James, (The Fall Guy). The play will be directed by Noelle Geiger, who was also a member of the ensemble in the play’s world premier.
